Book man, what do when story talk too much like fresh tribe talk?
Big Rock Tablet Maker, Bongo, have much grunt-noise trouble! New Long Story on Wall, from clever cave-scribbler, tell things that just happen! Like, big woolly rhino chase from yesterday sun-down, or new shiny rock found by river this very morning! Ugh! Bongo hit head with club, many times. Story too much like what happen right now, not old story, not new story, but *right now* story.
Bongo think hard, eyes squint. What do with this fresh story? Show it fast, like fresh kill? Or wait, like letting fruit ripen? Maybe cave-folk want old legends, or dream-tales, not just-now things. This Long Story on Wall make Bongo's head hurt. Many grunts heard from Bongo's cave, very loud grunts.
Grak, a cave artist: "Me like story about old times, like big flood long ago! Not today's squirrel hunt, boring! Make my eyes tired."
Lana, a fire tender: "Me want story about *new* things, like new way to make fire hot! But not *just* happened, give me time to forget little bit, then story good!"
Chief Zog, Head of Story Telling Council: "We need good stories, yes. Stories make fire bright. But stories need time to cook, like good mammoth meat. Not raw, not too fresh. This Bongo's problem, big problem."
Story by Krag from Caveman Talk Fire, on the scene.
