Bad thief take fast-beasts from sleep-holes. Owners must hunt for lost goods. Big-club-men useless.
Bad shadow-man, he sneak into tribe's rock-caves. He know where fast-beasts hide, he know what good stuff sleep in dark. First, shiny talking-box disappear. Then, many fast-beasts, worth more shiny-rocks than tribe can count, all gone! Thief smart like cunning sabre-cat, finding best hunting grounds in tribe's own village.
Now tribe worried. Our fast-beasts help hunt, help travel far. But big-club-men, the ones who guard tribe, they just grunt and scratch head. Owners must go find their own fast-beasts, follow tracks themselves. If big-club-men no protect our stuff, then every caveman must be his own guard, every night.
### Local Commentary
Grok (local berry picker): "My gut feel bad! If thief take fast-beasts, what next? My best berries? My warm fur blanket?"
Thag (mammoth hunter): "I saw no tracks, no sign of new sabre-cat. But I heard strange whispers in shadows. This thief, he not simple."
Chieftain Oog (wise leader of the tribe): "This shows tribe must be strong, watchful. We must teach young ones to guard, and maybe paint new warnings on cave walls. No one safe if big-club-men sleep."
