Old Emidio, first to make good berry-juice, teach young ones old ways, gone to big sleep.
Sad-news! Old-Man Emidio, the Strong-Hand who knew the true magic of the sun-berries, has gone to the big-sleep after 94 long winters. He was the first to shout loud for our own-land fruit and the ancestor-paths of making happy-drink. While other tribes-folk forgot the old ways, Emidio kept the fire burning for good berry-juice.
This means a great spirit has flown to the sky-realm. Emidio's wisdom taught many how to squeeze the sun's goodness from the earth, ensuring our tribe has special-drink for feast-times and to warm the belly after long hunts. His strength in old ways helped young-ones see the value of our land, ensuring many moons of good-drink for all.
### Local Commentary
Oog (local berry picker): 'Emidio was like a sun-tree, always giving. He showed me which berries sing the happiest song for the special juice, even when others said new ways were better. My basket is full, but my heart is sad.'
Grog (mammoth hunter): 'Many moons ago, after a big hunt, Emidio shared his special brew. It made the mammoth meat taste even better! He saw power in the dirt and shared it with all who respected the old ways.'
Elder Zok (wise elder of the Mountain Tribe): 'The spirit of Emidio will live on in every drop of the strong-berry-juice made by the young hands he guided. We must honor his memory by never forgetting the wisdom of our ancestors and the goodness of our own land.'
