Big chief talk-men make little talk-huts go dark in far lands. Fewer friends to talk across big waters.

Big Chief Cave of Many Talkers, high in Great-Stone-Village, has told Old Wise Council a new thing. They say they will make five far-away message-caves go dark forever, like pulling back many hunting spears. This is strange, making less path for tribe-friendship across the wide world, as fast-runners heard this whispered by those who know much. Fewer talk-fires will burn in lands far from our big hunting grounds now. This sudden quiet could mean our trade-paths for shiny-rocks or good berries from other tribes might change. When less talk happens, tribes might not share knowledge of big mammoth herds or safe hunting grounds so well. Our own tribe must watch for new signs and listen to the wind, as less talking with far-off people might bring colder winds to our own fire-circle. We need to be strong and ready for any change this shutting of talk-huts brings to our shared world. ### Local Commentary Grak (local berry picker): "Ugh! Less talk means less chance to trade my best berries for their shiny-shells! How will I know if their berries are better than mine if nobody talks?" Zog (mammoth hunter): "If talk-huts close, maybe they stop telling us where big beasts roam. This could make our hunts harder, more dangerous for our people. Bad news for hungry bellies." Chief Throk (Tribal Chief): "When talk-fires dim, the tribe must shine brighter from within. We will strengthen our own hunts and gather our own knowledge. Let the other tribes hear *our* wisdom now." Story by Oog from Caveman Talk Fire, on the scene.
