Less poke, more sick.
This sun, MN has many red spots. Most sick in many, many winters. Ugh.
Big trouble in Big Cold Land. Many-many sick. Thirteen cave-folk now have the Bad Red-Dot Sickness. Ten sick are one group in Dakota Cave Place. Three little ones got sickness from long walk to far away lands. This make tribe worry.
The sickness jumps fast like a scared rabbit. One sick person cough or sneeze, and soon many more get sick if they no have strong-body magic. Sickness gives hot head, barking breath, water eyes, and then ugly red dots all over skin. Wise ones say poke-stick medicine is best way to fight. Poke-stick makes body strong. It keeps red dots away.
Krog, a local mammoth hunter: "Me see neighbor Ugg covered in red dots. He look very sick. Me keep my little ones in our cave now. Scary time for tribe."
Zana, a river-fisher: "Sickness spreads like fire in dry grass. One day, cave is fine. Next day, whole family has hot heads. We stay away from sick-folk."
Ugg-Thak, Chief of the Health-Stone Council: "Ugg-Thak say all must get strong-body magic from shaman's poke-stick. This keep Bad Red-Dot Sickness away from our caves and our children. Do now before more get sick!"
Story by Gronk from Caveman Talk Fire, on the scene.
