Small-folk lived on distant fire-spit land many suns. Long dry-time come, now tiny-kin gone. Big mystery!
Big news rumble from far-away big-water-land, where fire-spit mountain stand tall. For very, very many sleeps, more than a million sun-cycles, tiny-kin, small-folk like us but smaller, live quiet on Flores-rock island. They hunt small beasts, gather roots, live simple under hot sun. But then, big bad dry-time come, no-water-long-time hit hard across the land, and these small-folk, around fifty-thousand suns ago, just disappear, like smoke in wind.
This news make our own tribe think hard. If long dry-time can make small-folk vanish far away, what if such long dry-time come to our hunting grounds? Our mammoth supply, our berry patches, our water holes – all could shrivel. We must remember the lesson of the small-folk and always store water, always move if land turn dry, lest we too disappear like forgotten footprints.
### Local Commentary
Eyewitness 1: Korg (local berry picker): "Me saw the river get low last dry-time! If no rain, berries die. Bad news for all!"
Eyewitness 2: Thag (mammoth hunter): "Tiny people gone? Maybe they not strong enough for big beasts. We strong, we fight dry-time!"
Village Elder: Oog (wise elder): "The spirits of the land speak. We must honor the water, share our finds, and keep watch always. The sun is powerful, and the earth is hungry."
